I use a combination of Christian artist arrangements and my own stuff. This week I did:

- O Come All Ye Faithful (transcribed from Third Day)
- O Come O Come Emmanuel (my arrangement in 6/8)
- Angels We Have Heard on High (pretty straight forward, just pulled the chord progression out of a hymnal and gave it to the band).
- Emmanuel (just the chorus, brief)
- What Child Is This? (simple arrangement)
- I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day (my remix of Mercy Me's remix)

I've found that younger people don't know the classic carols very well. So I try to focus on them so they don't lose touch with all the history and theological richness that the old carols carry.

Thanks,
Mark SueMark Suenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3083603624771042008.post-29077963143229752812010-12-05T20:15:55.319-08:002010-12-05T20:15:55.319-08:00Ryan,
You asked about Christmas arrangements. I&#...Ryan,

You asked about Christmas arrangements. I'm doing several this year from Chris Tomlin's newest Christmas CD, Casting Crown's Christmas CD from last year, and I've also used several of the Praise Carols at Praise Charts. Praise Charts is a good place to get both contemporary and traditional carol arrangements.

Looks like a great morning!

BarryAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
